Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES
Why this applies to Donepezil (patch)
Donepezil (patch) falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Dhea interacts with.
Some preliminary evidence shows that DHEA may inhibit CYP3A4; however, the clinical significance of this potential interaction is not known.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist for your donepezil patch (Adlarity): your body clears this medicine partly through a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. There is some early, low-quality lab evidence that DHEA might slow that enzyme down a bit. If it did, more donepezil could hang around in your system, which in theory could nudge up its usual side effects. With donepezil, that means things like nausea, diarrhea, loss of appetite, trouble sleeping, muscle cramps, or a slower heartbeat.
I want to be honest with you though: this is mostly a theoretical concern, and the real-world importance simply isn't known. It's not a reason to panic. Just mention to your pharmacist or doctor that you're using DHEA so they can keep an eye on how you're feeling before making any changes.

DHEA is a natural hormone that the body makes and that declines with age, and it is sold as a supplement claiming many benefits. The evidence is mixed and limited for most uses, and because it acts as a hormone it can cause real side effects. Talk to a pharmacist or doctor before using it, especially if you have a hormone-sensitive condition.
