Here's the honest picture: the concern on file comes from animal studies where high doses of DHEA seemed to blunt how well the BCG tuberculosis vaccine worked. The worry is that DHEA, acting as a hormone, might dampen the immune response a vaccine is trying to build. Applied to your meningococcal vaccine (like Menactra), the theory would be that DHEA could make the vaccine slightly less effective at training your body to fight meningococcal bacteria.

That said, this is weak, anecdotal evidence drawn from a different vaccine in animals, not people getting meningococcal shots. I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Still, since timing matters, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor about pausing DHEA around your vaccination.
