Here's the basic idea with mandrake and your migraine medicine eletriptan (Relpax). Mandrake's tropane alkaloids slow down how fast your gut moves things along. When your stomach and intestines slow down, a pill like eletriptan can sit there longer and get absorbed more fully, so a bit more of it may end up in your bloodstream than usual.

More eletriptan on board could mean stronger effects and side effects, things like dizziness, drowsiness, tightness or pressure in the chest, tingling, or a faster heartbeat. I'll be honest though: this is a theoretical concern based on how these substances behave, not something well documented. The much bigger issue is that mandrake itself is genuinely poisonous and unsafe to take in any form. Please don't use it, and check with your pharmacist or doctor.

Brand name: Relpax

Eletriptan tablets — sold as Relpax, Eletriptan HBR, and Eletriptan Hydrobromide — are taken at the onset of a migraine to relieve the headache and associated symptoms. They are meant to treat an attack that is already happening, not to prevent future migraines.

Eletriptan is only appropriate when a clear migraine diagnosis has been confirmed by a healthcare provider. It is not approved for cluster headaches, and its use in those cases has not been studied.
