Rasagiline falls under CYTOCHROME P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) SUBSTRATES — the group Eurycoma Longifolia interacts with.

Theoretically, Eurycoma longifolia might increase levels CYP1A2 substrates.
In vitro research suggests that methanolic Eurycoma longifolia root extract weakly inhibits CYP1A2 enzymes. This effect has not been reported in humans.

Here's the gist for tongkat ali and rasagiline. Your liver uses an enzyme called CYP1A2 to help clear rasagiline out of your body. In a lab dish, an extract of this herb weakly slowed that same enzyme. If that happened in a person, rasagiline could clear a bit more slowly and build up slightly, which in theory might nudge up its usual side effects like headache, dizziness, joint pain, or trouble sleeping.

I want to be straight with you, though: this is a theoretical, lab-only concern that hasn't actually been seen in real people, and it's rated as minor. It's not a reason to panic. Still, since rasagiline affects brain chemistry, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before adding this supplement.

What Is Rasagiline Used For?

Brand name: Azilect

Rasagiline tablets — sold as Azilect, Rasagiline, and Rasagiline mesylate — are approved to treat Parkinson's disease (PD). They can be used on their own (monotherapy) or added to other Parkinson's medications, including levodopa.

When used alongside levodopa, rasagiline helps manage Parkinson's symptoms that are not fully controlled by levodopa alone. Your doctor may adjust your levodopa dose when the two are combined.
