Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
ANTIDIABETES DRUGS
Why this applies to Insulin Glulisine (rDNA)
Insulin Glulisine (rDNA) falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Fenugreek interacts with.
Clinical research shows that fenugreek seed can reduce fasting blood glucose and 2-hour postprandial glucose levels in adults with type 2 diabetes.
Interaction has not been documented in well-controlled studies, however, the interaction has been demonstrated in some small human studies or in controlled animal studies in conjunction with multiple case reports..
Here's the thing to keep in mind: fenugreek can lower your blood sugar on its own, and Apidra (insulin glulisine) is already a fast-acting insulin you take to bring sugar down around meals. Stack the two together and their effects can add up, which may push your blood sugar lower than you intended.
That matters because low blood sugar from insulin can come on quickly, with shakiness, sweating, a racing heart, confusion, or feeling lightheaded. A pinch of fenugreek in cooking is unlikely to do much, but concentrated capsules taken daily are more likely to nudge your numbers. Please don't change your insulin dose on your own. Instead, check in with your pharmacist or doctor, keep an eye on your readings, and watch for those low-sugar signs.

“Apidra (insulin glulisine) is a rapid mealtime insulin, and this list calls for real vigilance. All 239 ingredients on file affect blood sugar, most of the 208 moderate entries by adding their own glucose lowering to the insulin's and raising the chance of a serious low.”

About Fenugreek
What is Fenugreek?
- Blood sugar control
- Boosting breast milk supply
- High cholesterol
- Digestive upset
- Low testosterone or libido
Fenugreek is a common kitchen spice that is also taken as a supplement, mainly for blood sugar, cholesterol, and to support breast milk production. Some early research is encouraging for blood sugar, but overall the evidence is mixed and far from settled. It is generally well tolerated as food, but talk with your pharmacist or doctor before using it as a supplement, especially if you are pregnant.
About Insulin Glulisine (rDNA origin) Injection
What Is Insulin Glulisine (rDNA origin) Injection Used For?
Brand name: Apidra
Apidra and Apidra SoloStar are used to improve glycemic control (blood sugar management) in adult and pediatric patients with diabetes mellitus. This includes both type 1 and type 2 diabetes.
Because insulin glulisine works very quickly, it is typically used around mealtimes to control the rise in blood sugar that happens after eating. It is generally used alongside a longer-acting insulin as part of a complete diabetes regimen.
