Hydrochlorothiazide, Moexipril falls under DIURETIC DRUGS — the group Figwort interacts with.

Theoretically, overuse of figwort might compound diuretic-induced potassium loss. There is some concern that people taking figwort along with potassium depleting diuretics might have an increased risk for hypokalemia. Initiation of potassium supplementation or an increase in potassium supplement dose may be necessary for some patients. Some diuretics that can deplete potassium include chlorothiazide (Diuril), chlorthalidone (Thalitone), furosemide (Lasix), hydrochlorothiazide (HCTZ, Hydrodiuril, Microzide), and others.

Your Uniretic combines two medicines: hydrochlorothiazide (a water pill that can flush potassium out in your urine) and moexipril (an ACE inhibitor that tends to hold onto potassium). The concern here is mainly with the hydrochlorothiazide half. The thinking is that figwort, used heavily, might add to the potassium-lowering effect of the diuretic. Low potassium can show up as muscle cramps, weakness, tiredness, or an irregular heartbeat.

I want to be honest: this is a theoretical concern based on how the herb behaves in lab settings, not real patient cases. The moexipril part may actually push potassium the other way, so the net effect is hard to predict. Please don't change anything on your own, just check with your pharmacist or doctor before adding figwort.
