The piece of this combo product that matters here is the codeine. Codeine is an opioid, and like other opioids it can make you drowsy, slow your breathing, and leave you feeling foggy or unsteady. Galphimia glauca seems to have its own mild calming, sedative effect. So the worry is simple: stacking the two could add up to more sedation than you'd expect from the codeine alone.

I want to be honest about the strength of this, though. It's a theoretical concern based on how the plant behaves, not solid human studies showing a problem. Still, since opioids already carry real drowsiness and breathing risks, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before pairing them, especially if you're driving or taking other sleepy medicines.
