Here's the simple version: both gamboge and casanthranol are stimulant laxatives. Casanthranol works by irritating the lining of your intestines so they push things through faster. Gamboge does basically the same thing. So you're stacking two products that pull water into the gut and speed up bowel movements.

Put them together and the effect can pile up. That means more diarrhea, cramping, and a real risk of losing too much fluid and key minerals like potassium. Losing those can leave you weak, dizzy, or with an irregular heartbeat. This warning is theoretical, based on how these products work rather than hard studies, but the logic is sound. Honestly, gamboge isn't safe to take orally at all. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining anything like this.

About Gamboge

What is Gamboge?

Gamboge is a bright yellow tree resin used historically as a strong laxative and as an artists' pigment, but it is toxic in even modest amounts and is not a safe dietary supplement. Modern interest centers on its compound gambogic acid in laboratory cancer research, which does not make the raw resin safe to take. We recommend avoiding oral use of gamboge.
