SEROTONERGIC DRUGS
Why this applies to Chlorpheniramine, Methscopolamine, Phenylpropanolamine
Chlorpheniramine, Methscopolamine, Phenylpropanolamine falls under SEROTONERGIC DRUGS — the group Garcinia interacts with.
In one report, a patient experienced serotonin syndrome after taking garcinia extract (60% hydroxycitric acid) 1000 mg daily in combination with escitalopram 20 mg, which had been taken for a year. The patient was switched to sertraline 50 mg daily and again experienced serotonin syndrome.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the honest picture with Pannaz, which combines chlorpheniramine (an antihistamine), methscopolamine (dries secretions), and phenylpropanolamine (a decongestant). The concern on file is that Garcinia might add to the risk of serotonin syndrome, a buildup of too much serotonin activity. This is mostly theoretical and rests on a single case report involving Garcinia plus an antidepressant, so the evidence is weak.
Chlorpheniramine has only mild serotonin-related activity, so the real-world risk here is low. Still, watch for things like agitation, a racing heart, sweating, shivering, or feeling jittery, since the decongestant can also raise heart rate and blood pressure. To be safe, check with your pharmacist or doctor before pairing these, especially given Garcinia's rare liver concerns.

“Pannaz combines an antihistamine, an anticholinergic, and phenylpropanolamine, a stimulant decongestant, and that three-way mix is why 10 of its 230 supplement interactions rate major and why I'd want those ten understood before any other line on this page. Stimulant herbs, ephedra chief among them, stack heart-rate and blood-pressure…”
