Dipyridamole falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Garcinia interacts with.

Theoretically, hydroxycitric acid (HCA), the main active ingredient in garcinia, might increase the risk of bleeding when used with antiplatelet or anticoagulant drugs.
HCA inhibits platelet aggregation in vitro. The inhibitory effect seems to be greater in platelets extracted from diabetic subjects than non-diabetic subjects.

Here's the situation with Garcinia and dipyridamole. Dipyridamole already works to keep your platelets from clumping together, which is exactly how it lowers your clotting risk after a heart valve replacement. In lab studies, the hydroxycitric acid (HCA) in Garcinia also seems to slow platelet clumping. Stack those two together and, in theory, you could nudge your bleeding risk higher.

I want to be honest that this is a theoretical concern based on test-tube data, not strong human studies, so don't panic. Still, watch for things like easy bruising, nosebleeds, bleeding gums, or cuts that won't stop. Before you add a Garcinia supplement, please run it by your pharmacist or doctor first.

What Is Dipyridamole Used For?

Dipyridamole tablets are used alongside warfarin (a blood thinner) to help prevent dangerous blood clots from forming after cardiac valve replacement surgery. It is not used alone for this purpose — it works as an add-on to anticoagulant therapy.

Dipyridamole Injection is used as an alternative to exercise during thallium myocardial perfusion imaging — a type of heart scan that checks blood flow through the coronary arteries. It is given to patients who are unable to exercise adequately for the test.
