Propoxyphene falls under HEPATOTOXIC DRUGS — the group Garcinia interacts with.

Theoretically, concomitant use with other potentially hepatotoxic drugs might increase the risk of developing liver damage.
There have been reports of acute hepatitis with elevated liver enzymes associated with garcinia, when taken alone or in combination with other ingredients. Case reports collected from the Drug Induced Liver Injury Network suggest this risk may be greater in people who carry the HLA B*35:01 allele.

Here's the concern with pairing Garcinia and propoxyphene: both can be tough on the liver. Propoxyphene itself has a history of liver strain, and Garcinia has been linked to occasional cases of acute hepatitis with raised liver enzymes. Stacking two things that lean on the same organ could, in theory, add up.

I'll be honest, this is a theoretical caution based on how these work, not a proven, common event. Some people may be more vulnerable due to their genetics. Still, watch for warning signs like yellowing of the skin or eyes, dark urine, belly pain, nausea, or unusual tiredness. Before combining them, please check with your pharmacist or doctor first.

What Is Acetaminophen, Butalbital, and Caffeine Used For?

Brand names: Darvon, Prophene-65, Margesic, Davon

This three-ingredient combination — butalbital, acetaminophen, and caffeine — is used to relieve the symptoms of tension headache (also called muscle contraction headache). All supported products, including tablets, capsules, and oral solution, share this same approved use.

It is worth knowing that evidence for using this combination to treat repeated, frequent tension headaches over time is limited. Because butalbital can be habit-forming, extended or repeated use is not recommended.
