Umbralisib Tosylate falls under HEPATOTOXIC DRUGS — the group Garcinia interacts with.

Theoretically, concomitant use with other potentially hepatotoxic drugs might increase the risk of developing liver damage.
There have been reports of acute hepatitis with elevated liver enzymes associated with garcinia, when taken alone or in combination with other ingredients. Case reports collected from the Drug Induced Liver Injury Network suggest this risk may be greater in people who carry the HLA B*35:01 allele.

Here's the thing to keep an eye on with this pair: it's not about one drug speeding up or slowing down the other. It's about a double hit to your liver. Umbralisib (Ukoniq) can be hard on the liver on its own, and raised liver enzymes are a known issue with it. Garcinia has its own track record of liver trouble, including rare reports of acute hepatitis. Stacking the two could, in theory, raise the chance of liver injury.

I'll be honest, this concern is theoretical and based on how each one behaves, not on solid studies of the combo. Still, since your cancer treatment already needs careful liver monitoring, I wouldn't add Garcinia without first checking with your oncologist or pharmacist. Watch for yellowing skin or eyes, dark urine, belly pain, or unusual tiredness, and report them right away.

About Umbralisib

What Is Umbralisib Used For?

Brand name: Ukoniq

  • Umbralisib is used to treat marginal zone lymphoma (MZL; a slow growing cancer that begins in a type of white blood cells that normally fight infection) in adults whose cancer has returned or did not respond to a certain type of medication. It is also used to treat follicular lymphoma (FL; a type of cancer that begins in the white blood cells) in adults whose cancer has returned or did not respond to at least three other medications. Umbralisib is in a class of medications called kinase inhibitors. It works by blocking the action of the abnormal protein that signals cancer cells to multiply. This helps stop the spread of cancer cells.
