Primidone already does a good job of calming overactive brain signals, and part of how it works (and one of its main downsides) is that it can leave you feeling drowsy, foggy, or unsteady on your feet. German chamomile has its own mild sedative quality, mostly thanks to a compound called apigenin. Put the two together and the worry is simply that the sleepiness could stack up, so you feel more tired or sluggish than usual.

Keep in mind this is a theoretical concern based on lab work, not strong human studies, and an occasional cup of chamomile tea is unlikely to cause trouble for most people. Stronger supplement capsules might matter more. Don't change anything on your own. Just check with your pharmacist or doctor, especially if you notice extra drowsiness.

What Is Primidone Used For?

Brand name: Mysoline

Primidone tablets — sold as Mysoline or under the generic name primidone — are used to control seizures in people with epilepsy. Both Mysoline and primidone tablets are approved for grand mal (generalized tonic-clonic), psychomotor, and focal (partial) epileptic seizures.

Primidone can be used alone or alongside other anti-seizure medicines. It may also help control grand mal seizures that haven't responded well to other anticonvulsant treatments.
