Goli Apple Cider Vinegar Gummies and Liraglutide

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.

Minor

ANTIDIABETES DRUGS

Why this applies to Liraglutide

Liraglutide falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Goli Apple Cider Vinegar Gummies interacts with.

Theoretically, taking apple cider vinegar, which is contained in Goli ACV, with antidiabetes drugs might increase the risk of hypoglycemia (i.e., low blood sugar). Apple cider vinegar might reduce fasting and postprandial blood glucose levels and decrease gastric emptying in people with diabetes, which could theoretically, have additive effects on glucose levels when used with antidiabetes drugs.
Severity Minor Likelihood Possible Evidence A

Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.

Dr. Brian Staiger explains PharmD, Clinical Pharmacist

Here's the practical picture: liraglutide (Victoza) already lowers your blood sugar, and one of the ways it works is by slowing how fast your stomach empties. The acetic acid in apple cider vinegar may do a little of the same thing, plus nudge blood sugar down slightly on its own. Stack them together and you could, in theory, see low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) a bit more easily, with signs like shakiness, sweating, dizziness, or feeling foggy.

That said, this is rated minor and mostly theoretical, and the vinegar amount in a Goli gummy is fairly small, so for most folks it won't be dramatic. Still, if you're on liraglutide, it's worth giving your pharmacist or doctor a heads-up before adding these gummies, and keep an eye on your blood sugar readings at first.

Goli Apple Cider Vinegar Gummies are a flavored supplement that delivers a small amount of apple cider vinegar along with added ingredients like beetroot and pomegranate. While apple cider vinegar is popular for weight and blood sugar support, the human evidence is limited and the amount in each gummy is fairly low, so don't expect dramatic results.
