Goli Apple Cider Vinegar Gummies and Linagliptin

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.

Minor

ANTIDIABETES DRUGS

Why this applies to Linagliptin

Linagliptin falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Goli Apple Cider Vinegar Gummies interacts with.

Theoretically, taking apple cider vinegar, which is contained in Goli ACV, with antidiabetes drugs might increase the risk of hypoglycemia (i.e., low blood sugar). Apple cider vinegar might reduce fasting and postprandial blood glucose levels and decrease gastric emptying in people with diabetes, which could theoretically, have additive effects on glucose levels when used with antidiabetes drugs.
Severity Minor Likelihood Possible Evidence A

Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.

Dr. Brian Staiger, PharmD, BCPS
Dr. Brian Staiger explains PharmD, Clinical Pharmacist

Here's the gist for your Tradjenta (linagliptin). The idea on file is that apple cider vinegar may nudge your blood sugar a little lower on its own and slow how fast your stomach empties. Stack that on top of a medicine that already lowers blood sugar, and in theory the two could add up and tip you toward hypoglycemia.

In real life, this is a minor, mostly theoretical concern. Linagliptin by itself rarely causes lows unless it's paired with insulin or a sulfonylurea, and each Goli gummy only carries a small amount of vinegar. Still, it's smart to know the warning signs: shakiness, sweating, dizziness, or feeling foggy. If you take these regularly, mention it to your pharmacist or doctor so they can keep an eye on your numbers.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Linagliptin page

“Linagliptin (Tradjenta) helps people with type 2 diabetes bring blood sugar down, so most of the 284 supplements and herbs on this page interact for one basic reason: they lower glucose too, and stacking them can drop you into hypoglycemia. I'd read this list with genuine care rather than a shrug.”

  • Digestive support
  • Heart health support
  • General wellness and energy

Goli Apple Cider Vinegar Gummies are a flavored supplement that delivers a small amount of apple cider vinegar along with added ingredients like beetroot and pomegranate. While apple cider vinegar is popular for weight and blood sugar support, the human evidence is limited and the amount in each gummy is fairly low, so don't expect dramatic results. They are generally well tolerated, but talk with your pharmacist or doctor before starting, especially if you have a health condition or take medication.
