Here's the simple version. Mephenytoin (Mesantoin) is an older anti-seizure medicine that already tends to make people feel drowsy, foggy, or unsteady. Gotu kola, based mostly on lab research, may have its own mild calming effect by acting on GABA, the brain's natural 'settle down' signal. Put the two together and you could, in theory, feel sleepier or more out of it than usual.

I want to be honest with you: this concern is theoretical, built on test-tube findings, not real patient reports, so it may not amount to much. Still, if you notice extra grogginess, dizziness, or trouble concentrating, that's worth mentioning. Please don't change your mephenytoin on your own. Just check with your pharmacist or doctor before adding gotu kola.

Here's the concern with pairing gotu kola and mephenytoin (Mesantoin). This isn't about one changing how the other works in your bloodstream. Instead, it's about your liver. Mephenytoin is an older seizure medicine that, in rare cases, can be hard on the liver. Gotu kola has been linked to a handful of liver injury reports too, so the worry is that using both together could add up and put extra strain on your liver.

I'll be honest with you: this is mostly theoretical, based on a few case reports, and we don't even know for sure gotu kola caused those. Still, watch for warning signs like yellowing skin or eyes, dark urine, belly pain, or unusual tiredness. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.
