Grape + Ciclesonide
Ciclesonide brand names: Omnaris, Alvesco, Zetonna.
Grape has a moderate interaction with Ciclesonide. It is unclear if grape seed extract inhibits or induces CYP3A4; research is conflicting.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES
Why this applies to Ciclesonide
Ciclesonide falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Grape interacts with.
In vitro evidence suggests that grape seed extract might inhibit CYP3A4 enzymes. However, evidence from animal research shows that grape seed extract may induce CYP3A4 in the liver. So far, these interactions have not been reported in humans.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the honest picture with grape seed extract and your inhaled ciclesonide. Ciclesonide is broken down by a liver enzyme called CYP3A4, and grape seed extract might nudge that enzyme one way or the other. The catch is that the lab and animal studies disagree: some hint it slows the enzyme down, others suggest it speeds it up. Nothing like this has actually been seen in real people.
Because ciclesonide is inhaled and very little reaches your bloodstream, even a real effect would likely be small. If the enzyme were slowed, you could in theory see more steroid side effects like mouth irritation, hoarseness, or thrush. This is theoretical, so don't worry, but mention any grape seed supplement to your pharmacist or doctor.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Ciclesonide page
“Ciclesonide (Alvesco, Omnaris, Zetonna) is a corticosteroid for asthma and nasal allergies, and even though it is inhaled rather than swallowed, its supplement list warrants genuine care. The body clears it through the CYP3A4 enzyme, and 121 of the 166 ingredients on file nudge that pathway one way or the other.”

About Grape
What is Grape?
- Antioxidant support
- Heart and circulation health
- Vein problems (such as varicose veins)
- Eye health
- General anti-inflammatory support
Grapes and grape products like grape seed extract contain antioxidant compounds such as resveratrol and proanthocyanidins that may support heart and blood vessel health. While the food is healthy and generally safe, the supplement evidence for treating specific conditions is mostly limited or preliminary. Talk with your pharmacist or doctor before starting a grape supplement.
