Here's the simple version. Aristada (aripiprazole lauroxil) is a long-acting shot for schizophrenia, and like other medicines that act on the brain it can make some people feel drowsy or sleepy. The 5-HTP inside Griffonia seed extract has also been linked to drowsiness in studies. Put the two together and the worry is that the sleepy feeling could stack up, leaving you more tired, foggy, or unsteady than usual.

I want to be honest that this is a theoretical concern based on how each one works, not something proven in real patients, so please don't panic. Still, since your aripiprazole is already on board for weeks from the injection, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before adding Griffonia, especially if you drive.

Aripiprazole injection is used to treat schizophrenia and to provide maintenance treatment for bipolar I disorder in adults. Different injectable products carry these approvals.

Abilify Asimtufii is approved for the treatment of schizophrenia in adults and as maintenance monotherapy for bipolar I disorder in adults. Aristada is approved for the treatment of schizophrenia in adults, with Aristada Initio used specifically to help start Aristada therapy.
