Ozanimod Hydrochloride falls under MONOAMINE OXIDASE INHIBITORS (MAOIs) — the group Griffonia Simplicifolia interacts with.

Theoretically, taking Griffonia simplicifolia seed extract with MAOIs might increase the risk of serotonergic adverse effects, such as serotonin syndrome and cerebral vasoconstrictive disorders such as Call-Fleming syndrome.

Here's the gist: Ozanimod (Zeposia) actually has a piece that acts like a mild MAO inhibitor, meaning it slows down one of the body's natural systems for breaking down serotonin. Griffonia seed extract supplies 5-HTP, which your body turns into serotonin. Put the two together and serotonin can pile up more than intended.

If that happens, you could see signs of serotonin syndrome: agitation, a racing heart, sweating, shivering, muscle twitching, or confusion. There have also been theoretical concerns about narrowing of blood vessels in the brain. To be fair, this warning is based on how these compounds work, not on strong human studies, so the real-world risk isn't well measured. Still, I'd hold off on combining them and check with your doctor or pharmacist first.
