Hydrochlorothiazide, Propranolol falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS — the group Guarumo interacts with.

Evidence from animal research suggests that aqueous and ethanolic extracts of guarumo leaf can lower blood pressure when administered intravenously to rats. Theoretically, concomitant use of antihypertensive drugs with guarumo might enhance therapeutic effects and increase the risk of hypotension. Some antihypertensive drugs include captopril (Capoten), enalapril (Vasotec), losartan (Cozaar), valsartan (Diovan), diltiazem (Cardizem), amlodipine (Norvasc), hydrochlorothiazide (HydroDIURIL), furosemide (Lasix), and many others.

Inderide combines two blood pressure medicines: hydrochlorothiazide, a water pill, and propranolol, a beta blocker that also slows your heart rate. Guarumo tea has been shown in animal studies to lower blood pressure on its own. So the concern here is simple addition: if guarumo nudges your pressure down and your Inderide is already doing the same job, the two together could drop it more than expected.

What that might feel like is dizziness, lightheadedness when you stand up, unusual tiredness, or a slow, faint feeling. Keep in mind this warning is theoretical and comes from rat research, not human studies, so the real risk is uncertain. Still, since both lower blood pressure, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before adding guarumo.
