Inhaled Insulin falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Guarumo interacts with.

Some clinical evidence suggests that drinking tea prepared with guarumo leaf might lower blood glucose levels in people with type 2 diabetes. Theoretically, guarumo might have additive effects when used with antidiabetes drugs. Monitor blood glucose levels closely. Dose adjustments might be necessary. Some antidiabetes drugs include glimepiride (Amaryl), glyburide (DiaBeta, Glynase PresTab, Micronase), insulin, metformin (Glucophage), pioglitazone (Actos), rosiglitazone (Avandia), and others.

Here's the simple version: inhaled insulin works to bring your blood sugar down, and guarumo tea may nudge blood sugar down a little too. When you put the two together, those effects can stack up. That means your sugar could drop lower than you expect, which can leave you feeling shaky, sweaty, dizzy, confused, or weak. Severe lows are no joke, so this is worth paying attention to.

The good news is that the evidence here is modest, and an occasional cup of guarumo tea is gentler than a concentrated supplement dose. Still, if you want to try it, check in with your pharmacist or doctor first and watch your blood sugar more closely. Don't change your insulin on your own.
