Bortezomib falls under HEPATOTOXIC DRUGS — the group Hemp Agrimony interacts with.

Hemp agrimony contains hepatotoxic pyrrolizidine alkaloids (PA). Theoretically, using hemp agrimony with hepatotoxic drugs might have additive adverse effects on the liver. Some drugs that can adversely affect the liver include acetaminophen (Tylenol and others), amiodarone (Cordarone), carbamazepine (Tegretol), isoniazid (INH), methotrexate (Rheumatrex), methyldopa (Aldomet), fluconazole (Diflucan), itraconazole (Sporanox), erythromycin (Erythrocin, Ilosone, others), phenytoin (Dilantin), lovastatin (Mevacor), pravastatin (Pravachol), simvastatin (Zocor), and many others.

Here's the concern with combining hemp agrimony and bortezomib (Velcade). This isn't about how your body activates or clears the drug. Instead, it's about adding two things that can both be hard on the liver. Hemp agrimony can contain pyrrolizidine alkaloids, natural compounds that may injure liver cells, and bortezomib is known to occasionally raise liver enzymes or cause liver problems on its own.

Stacking them could mean more strain on your liver, which might show up as fatigue, nausea, belly pain on the right side, dark urine, or yellowing of the skin or eyes. To be clear, this is a theoretical worry based on how each works, not something proven in people. Still, since you're already on serious cancer therapy, please run any hemp agrimony product by your oncologist or pharmacist first.
