Dapsone falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Higenamine interacts with.

Theoretically, higenamine might increase the levels and clinical effects drugs metabolized by CYP3A4.
In vitro research shows that higenamine inhibits CYP3A4 enzymes by 21%. However, this effect has not been reported in humans.

Here's the gist for dapsone: your body relies partly on an enzyme called CYP3A4 to break it down. In lab testing, higenamine slowed that enzyme by about 21 percent. If that happened in real life, dapsone could clear a little slower and build up, which in theory could nudge up the risk of its known side effects, like headache, nausea, or problems with red blood cells (such as anemia or a condition called methemoglobinemia that can leave you tired, short of breath, or with bluish lips).

I want to be honest, though: this is only a test-tube finding and hasn't been shown in people, so the real-world risk is uncertain. Dapsone matters too much to guess on. Please run this combo past your pharmacist or doctor before mixing them.

Higenamine is a plant-based stimulant compound added to many weight-loss and pre-workout supplements, but there is very little human evidence that it works and real concerns about heart and blood pressure effects. It is banned in sports by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), and product labels often list inaccurate amounts, so most people should approach it with caution and talk to a pharmacist or doctor first.

About Dapsone

What Is Dapsone Used For?

Brand names: Dapsone, Avlosulfon, Aczone

Dapsone tablets are used to treat dermatitis herpetiformis (a chronic, intensely itchy blistering skin condition) and leprosy (all forms, except where proven resistance to dapsone exists). For leprosy, dapsone tablets are typically used in combination with other anti-leprosy medicines.

Aczone Gel (dapsone gel, 7.5%) and dapsone gel are indicated for the topical treatment of acne vulgaris in patients 9 years of age and older. This topical form is applied to the skin and is not used for leprosy or dermatitis herpetiformis.
