Lisdexamfetamine falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES — the group Higenamine interacts with.

Theoretically, higenamine might increase the levels and clinical effects of drugs metabolized by CYP2D6.
In vitro research shows that higenamine inhibits CYP2D6 enzymes. However, this effect has not been reported in humans.

Here's the situation with Vyvanse (lisdexamfetamine) and higenamine. Lab studies suggest higenamine can slow down an enzyme called CYP2D6, which is one of the pathways your body uses to clear amphetamines. If that pathway slows, the stimulant could hang around a bit longer and feel stronger. On top of that, higenamine is itself a stimulant that acts like adrenaline, so you'd essentially be stacking two stimulants together.

The bigger worry here isn't really the enzyme part (that's only seen in test tubes, not people), it's the doubled-up stimulant effect: a racing or pounding heart, higher blood pressure, jitteriness, and trouble sleeping. Since higenamine products are also poorly labeled, I'd play it safe and run this combo by your doctor or pharmacist before mixing them.

Higenamine has stimulant effects due to agonist activity at beta2-adrenoreceptors. In cardiac muscle, higenamine appears to have a positive inotropic effect and increase heart rate. However, it does not appear to increase blood pressure.

Here's the thing to keep in mind when pairing higenamine with Vyvanse: both are stimulants, and they pull on your heart in the same direction. Vyvanse already nudges your heart rate up and can cause a faster or pounding heartbeat, jitteriness, and trouble sleeping. Higenamine acts on similar adrenaline-type receptors and may add to that heart-revving effect. Stacking the two could mean more of those cardiovascular symptoms.

To be fair, this is a theoretical concern based on how these compounds work, not on solid human studies, so I don't want to alarm you. Still, since higenamine products often contain unpredictable doses, I'd steer clear of combining them and check with your doctor or pharmacist before adding any pre-workout or weight-loss supplement.

Lisdexamfetamine treats Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in adults and children age 6 and older. It is also approved to treat moderate to severe binge eating disorder (BED) in adults.

It is not approved or recommended for weight loss, and its safety and effectiveness for treating obesity have not been established. It is not recommended in children under 6 years old.
