Muraglitazar falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Ilex Guayusa interacts with.

Theoretically, taking Ilex guayusa with antidiabetes drugs might increase the risk of hypoglycemia.
Animal research in a model of hyperglycemia suggests that Ilex guayusa may have antihyperglycemic effects, although it does not appear to lower glucose levels when compared with baseline. This effect has not been evaluated in humans.

Muraglitazar is a blood-sugar-lowering medication (it works on both PPAR-alpha and PPAR-gamma pathways), so the concern here is whether guayusa could push your sugar too low when added on top. The honest answer is that this is a very weak, theoretical link. The only signal comes from animal studies where guayusa seemed to blunt high glucose spikes, but it did not actually lower normal blood sugar, and this has never been tested in people.

In practice, drinking guayusa tea like you would yerba mate is unlikely to cause a meaningful drop. Still, if you ever notice shakiness, sweating, dizziness, or confusion (classic low-sugar signs), treat it and mention it. It is always smart to check with your pharmacist or doctor before relying on any new supplement.
