Here's the idea with this pairing. Cortisone acetate is a steroid your body converts to cortisol, and one of its main jobs is to calm down an overactive immune system, which is why it helps with inflammation, allergic reactions, and autoimmune flare-ups. Lion's mane works in the opposite direction. In lab dishes and animal studies, its mushroom sugars (polysaccharides) seem to nudge the immune system to be more active.

So in theory, lion's mane could push back against what cortisone is trying to do, possibly making it work a little less well. I want to be honest though: this is only seen in test-tube and animal research, not in people, so it's a low-confidence concern. Don't change anything on your own. Just check with your pharmacist or doctor before adding lion's mane.
