ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS
Why this applies to Diclofenac Potassium
Diclofenac Potassium falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Lion's Mane Mushroom interacts with.
In vitro research suggests that lion's mane mushroom extracts can inhibit platelet aggregation.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the thing to know about pairing lion's mane with diclofenac. Diclofenac is an NSAID, and NSAIDs already have a mild blood-thinning effect because they reduce how well your platelets stick together. Lab studies hint that lion's mane may do something similar and slow platelet clumping too. Put those two together and, in theory, you could see a slightly higher chance of bleeding or bruising, things like easy bruising, a nosebleed that won't quit, or stomach irritation that bleeds.
I want to be honest with you though: this is theoretical, based only on test-tube research, not real people. For most folks it's likely a non-issue. Still, if you take diclofenac regularly or have a bleeding history, run it past your pharmacist or doctor before starting lion's mane.
