Infigratinib falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Neem interacts with.

Theoretically, neem leaf extract might increase the levels and clinical effects of CYP3A4 substrates.
In vitro research shows that neem leaf methanol extract inhibits CYP3A4 enzymes. So far, this reaction has not been reported in humans.

Here's the gist for your bile duct cancer medicine, Infigratinib (Truseltiq). Your body relies on a liver enzyme called CYP3A4 to break this drug down. In test-tube studies, neem leaf extract appears to slow that same enzyme. If neem slows the breakdown, more Infigratinib could linger in your system, which may push up its side effects (things like high phosphate levels, eye and vision changes, dry mouth, fatigue, diarrhea, or nail problems).

I want to be honest about the strength of this: it comes from lab studies only, and it hasn't been seen in real people. Still, this is a serious cancer drug, so I wouldn't add neem on your own. Please run it by your oncologist or pharmacist first.

What Is Infigratinib Used For?

  • Infigratinib is used in adults who have received previous therapy to treat a certain type of cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer) that has spread to nearby tissues or other parts of the body and cannot be removed by surgery. Infigratinib is in a class of medications called kinase inhibitors. It works by blocking the action of the abnormal protein that signals cancer cells to multiply. This helps stop or slow the spread of cancer cells.
