Avatrombopag treats thrombocytopenia (a low platelet count that raises bleeding risk) in three groups of patients. Doptelet tablets are used in adults with chronic liver disease who need their platelet count raised before a medical procedure, and in adults with chronic immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) whose platelet count has not responded well enough to earlier treatments.
