Here's the simple version: noni and atenolol may pull in the same direction. Atenolol already lowers your blood pressure and slows your heart rate, and some early research hints that noni juice can nudge blood pressure down too. Stack them together and the effects could add up, possibly leaving you with readings that dip too low.

What might that feel like? Think dizziness, lightheadedness (especially when you stand up quickly), unusual tiredness, or a slower pulse than normal. To be honest, this is based on weak, anecdotal evidence, not strong studies, so for most people the risk is small. Still, if you'd like to try noni, please check with your pharmacist or doctor first, and keep an eye on your home blood pressure if you do.

What Is Atenolol Used For?

Brand names: Tenormin, Atenix

Atenolol tablets are used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and angina pectoris (chest pain caused by narrowed coronary arteries). Lowering blood pressure reduces the risk of stroke and heart attack. Long-term use helps manage chronic chest pain.

Atenolol is also used in hemodynamically stable patients with a definite or suspected acute heart attack (myocardial infarction) to reduce the risk of cardiovascular death. Treatment is started as soon as the patient's condition allows, typically in a hospital setting.
