Octopamine + Fexofenadine
Fexofenadine brand name: Allegra.
We found no known interaction between Octopamine and Fexofenadine in our sources. Absence of a documented interaction is not the same as proven safety, and does not guarantee one does not exist. Do not start, stop, or change a medication or supplement based on this page; confirm with your pharmacist or doctor first.
Octopamine and Fexofenadine
We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.
No Known Interaction Found
We did not find a documented interaction between Fexofenadine and Octopamine in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — there is often limited research on supplements and herbal products, especially around drug interactions.
If you decide to take both, the practical routine is simple: add one new thing at a time and note the date you started it. If the combination is going to disagree with you, it usually shows in the first days to a couple of weeks — and a start date turns “I’ve been feeling off” into something a pharmacist can actually work with. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.
Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

Why No Interaction Is Listed for Fexofenadine
Interactions in our licensed database are recorded against drug classes, not just single drug names. Fexofenadine is filed under 6 classifications — including organic anion-transporting polypeptide substrates (oatp), p-glycoprotein substrates, seizure threshold lowering drugs. Octopamine has documented interactions with 3 drug classes — the most serious being antihypertensive drugs (moderate), monoamine oxidase inhibitors (maois) (moderate) and stimulant drugs (minor) — and none of Fexofenadine’s classifications are among them.
Classification data comes from our licensed Natural Medicines dataset. A medication can belong to classes beyond those recorded there, so this describes how the check was run — it is not a safety guarantee.
Octopamine Does Interact With Other Medications
Octopamine has 181 moderate, 171 minor known drug interactions in our database — Fexofenadine isn’t one of them. If you take anything else, check it against the full list below.

Questions About Octopamine or Fexofenadine
These are real questions from readers, answered by the pharmacists at HelloPharmacist — written by a person, not generated from a database. Each one covers Octopamine or Fexofenadine, not necessarily both, but if one is close to what you were about to ask it will usually go further than a database entry can:
- Allergy Medicine Side Effects: What Are My Options? ›
- Can You Take Zyrtec-D Or Allegra-D With Amoxicillin? ›
- Can You Take Zyrtec-D Every Day? ›
Not quite your question? Ask our pharmacists directly — it is free, there is no account required, and answers usually come back within 24 hours.
See Every Supplement That Interacts With Fexofenadine
This page covers Octopamine only. If you take other supplements — a multivitamin, a sleep aid, something for joints — the Fexofenadine page lists 154 supplements it has a documented interaction with, worst first, each one explained.
The most serious there right now: Activated Charcoal (major), Apple (major), Grapefruit (major), St. John's Wort (major) and Sweet Orange (major).
By severity: 5 major · 111 moderate · 38 minor.
From our pharmacist’s overview on the Fexofenadine page
“An over-the-counter allergy pill sounds like the last place serious interactions would hide, but fexofenadine (Allegra) has 154 supplements and foods on file, and the five rated major deserve real attention before you combine it with much of anything else. Two of those five sit in most refrigerators.”

About Octopamine
What is Octopamine?
- Weight loss and fat burning
- Boosting energy
- Athletic performance
- Appetite suppression
Octopamine is a stimulant-like compound found in small amounts in some plants (such as bitter orange) and made naturally in the body. It is marketed mostly in weight-loss and sports supplements, but human evidence that it actually helps with fat loss or performance is very limited. Because it can affect the heart and blood pressure and is banned in some sports, talk to a pharmacist or doctor before using it.
Octopamine is a naturally occurring compound; supplement forms are usually synthetic or derived from bitter orange (Citrus aurantium) peel · Capsules, tablets, powders (often in fat-burner and pre-workout blends)
An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Octopamine is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Octopamine record says about it on its own.
Octopamine: dosing
There is no well-established, standardized dose for octopamine as a supplement. It usually appears in combination products, and amounts vary widely from one brand to another. If you choose to use a product containing octopamine, follow the directions on the label and do not exceed them.

About Fexofenadine
What Is Fexofenadine Used For?
Brand name: Allegra
Fexofenadine temporarily relieves symptoms of hay fever (seasonal allergic rhinitis) and other upper respiratory allergies, including runny nose, sneezing, itchy or watery eyes, and itching of the nose or throat.
Several products — including Allegra Hives 24hr tablets — are specifically used to reduce hives (urticaria) and relieve the itching that comes with them. Keep in mind that fexofenadine will not prevent hives or stop an allergic skin reaction from happening in the first place.
Most-Reported Side Effects for Fexofenadine
From FAERS, the FDA’s public side-effect reporting system (40,472 reports, all brands). Reports are voluntary and are not proof the drug caused the effect.
