Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS
Why this applies to Celiprolol
Celiprolol falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS — the group Phellodendron interacts with.
Phellodendron contains berberine. Animal research suggests that berberine can have hypotensive effects. Also, a clinical study suggests that taking berberine in combination with amlodipine can lower systolic and diastolic blood pressure when compared with amlodipine alone. Theoretically, phellodendron might also reduce blood pressure.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Celiprolol is a beta-blocker that's used to bring high blood pressure down. The concern here is pretty simple: Phellodendron contains berberine, and the thinking is that berberine may gently lower blood pressure on its own. If you stack it on top of Celiprolol, those two could add together and push your numbers lower than expected.
In real life, that might show up as feeling lightheaded, dizzy, or unusually tired, especially when you stand up quickly. I want to be honest though: this one is theoretical, based mostly on how berberine behaves in animal and small human studies, not strong proof. It's not about Celiprolol building up in your body. If you'd like to try Phellodendron, check with your pharmacist or doctor first, and keep an eye on your blood pressure.

About Phellodendron
What is Phellodendron?
- Digestive complaints and diarrhea
- Inflammation and joint discomfort
- Stress and weight management (in combination products)
- Skin conditions (topical, traditional)
- Antimicrobial support
Phellodendron is a traditional Chinese medicine bark (Huang Bai) that contains berberine and other plant compounds with antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory activity in lab studies. Human evidence for most uses is limited, and it is often sold in combination with other herbs, making its individual effects hard to judge. Talk with your pharmacist or doctor before using it, and avoid it during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Celiprolol Is Linked to Lower Levels of One Nutrient
Natural Medicines records Celiprolol as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Phellodendron — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
