Dulaglutide falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Picrorhiza interacts with.

Evidence from animal research suggests that an extract of picrorhiza can reduce fasting and non-fasting blood sugar levels. Theoretically, picrorhiza might have additive effects with antidiabetes drugs and increase the risk of hypoglycemia. Monitor blood glucose levels closely. Dose adjustments might be necessary. Some antidiabetes drugs include glimepiride (Amaryl), glyburide (DiaBeta, Glynase PresTab, Micronase), insulin, pioglitazone (Actos), rosiglitazone (Avandia), and others.

Here's the gist with Trulicity (dulaglutide) and Picrorhiza. This isn't a case of the herb blocking or speeding up how your body clears the drug. Instead, it's about overlapping jobs. Trulicity already works to bring your blood sugar down, and in animal studies Picrorhiza seemed to lower blood sugar too. Stack the two and you could, in theory, push your numbers lower than intended.

If that happened, you might feel the usual signs of low blood sugar: shakiness, sweating, dizziness, or feeling foggy. I'll be honest though, this concern comes only from lab and animal research, so it's more of a theoretical heads-up than a proven problem. Keep an eye on your readings and check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

What Is Dulaglutide Injection Used For?

Brand name: Trulicity

Trulicity (dulaglutide) injection is used alongside diet and exercise to improve blood sugar control in adults and children 10 years and older with type 2 diabetes mellitus. It is not for type 1 diabetes.

Trulicity is also used in adults with type 2 diabetes who have established cardiovascular disease or multiple cardiovascular risk factors to lower the risk of major heart events — specifically cardiovascular death, non-fatal heart attack, or non-fatal stroke.
