Evidence from animal research suggests that purple nut sedge can reduce blood glucose levels. Theoretically, purple nut sedge might have additive effects with antidiabetes drugs and increase the risk of hypoglycemia. Monitor blood glucose levels closely. Dose adjustments might be necessary.

Oseni combines two diabetes medicines, alogliptin and pioglitazone, that both work to lower your blood sugar. Here's the thing to keep in mind: in animal studies, purple nut sedge also appeared to nudge blood sugar down on its own. So if you stack it on top of Oseni, the worry is an additive effect, meaning your sugar could dip lower than you intended.

I want to be honest that this is theoretical, based on lab and animal work rather than solid human studies, so don't panic. Still, if you ever did go low, watch for shakiness, sweating, dizziness, confusion, or feeling unusually hungry. If you're curious about trying this supplement, check your numbers more often and chat with your pharmacist or doctor first so any dose changes are done safely.
