Metformin, Rosiglitazone falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Quassia interacts with.

In animals, quassia extract reduced levels of fasting glucose. Theoretically, quassia might have additive effects when used with antidiabetes drugs. This might increase the risk of hypoglycemia in some patients. Monitor blood glucose levels closely.
Some antidiabetes drugs include glimepiride (Amaryl), glyburide (DiaBeta, Glynase PresTab, Micronase), insulin, metformin (Glucophage), pioglitazone (Actos), rosiglitazone (Avandia), and others.

Here's the simple version for Avandamet, which combines metformin and rosiglitazone to help lower your blood sugar. In animal studies, quassia on its own seemed to bring fasting glucose down a bit. So the worry is just additive: if quassia nudges your sugar lower while your medication is already doing the heavy lifting, the two together could push your blood sugar too low.

If that happened, you might feel shaky, sweaty, dizzy, irritable, or suddenly very hungry. I'll be honest, this is mostly theoretical and based on lab and animal work, not strong human studies, so don't panic. If you'd like to try quassia, just check your glucose a little more often at first and let your pharmacist or doctor know before you start.
