Dr. Brian Staiger, PharmD, BCPS
Dr. Brian Staiger explains PharmD, Clinical Pharmacist

Here's the simple version. Coldec TR contains pseudoephedrine, a decongestant that's already a stimulant. It can speed up your heart, nudge your blood pressure up, and leave some folks feeling jittery or restless. Rauwolscine is also a stimulant that bumps up norepinephrine, your body's natural "rev it up" chemical. So you're essentially stacking two stimulants on top of each other.

Putting them together could make those stimulant effects stronger: a racing or pounding heart, higher blood pressure, anxiety, or trouble sleeping. I'll be honest, this concern is theoretical and comes mainly from animal studies, so it isn't proven in people. Still, since both nudge the same direction, it's worth running past your pharmacist or doctor before combining them, especially if you have any heart or blood pressure issues.
