These two interact in 2 distinct ways. Each one is explained separately below.
Why Are There 2 Interactions?
Rauwolscine interacts with whole categories of medication. Brompheniramine, Phenylephrine, Phenylpropanolamine falls into 2 of those categories, so it can interact with Rauwolscine in 2 different ways. We’ve listed each one below — your overall risk is driven by the most serious of them (Moderate).
SEIZURE THRESHOLD LOWERING DRUGS
1 of 2Why this applies to Brompheniramine, Phenylephrine, Phenylpropanolamine
Brompheniramine, Phenylephrine, Phenylpropanolamine falls under SEIZURE THRESHOLD LOWERING DRUGS — the group Rauwolscine interacts with.
In animal research, intraperitoneal rauwolscine lowered the seizure threshold level of the drug metrazol.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
This combo product pairs an antihistamine (brompheniramine) with two decongestants (phenylephrine and phenylpropanolamine). The concern here isn't about one speeding up or slowing down the other. Instead, both rauwolscine and these stimulant-type decongestants can, in theory, make the brain a little more prone to a seizure. Stacking them together might add up.
I'll be honest about the evidence: this is weak. It comes from an animal study where rauwolscine lowered the seizure threshold, not from people taking these exact medicines. For most folks the real-world risk is low. Still, both can raise heart rate, blood pressure, and jitteriness, so you may notice more of that. If you have a seizure history, heart trouble, or anxiety, please check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

STIMULANT DRUGS
2 of 2Brompheniramine, Phenylephrine, Phenylpropanolamine also falls under STIMULANT DRUGS.
Rauwolscine has demonstrated stimulant effects in animal research.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
This combination product contains phenylephrine and phenylpropanolamine, which are decongestants that tighten blood vessels and can nudge up your blood pressure and heart rate. Rauwolscine works through a different path, boosting your body's own norepinephrine (a natural stimulant), so stacking the two could pile up those stimulant effects. Realistically that might mean a racing or pounding heart, higher blood pressure, jitteriness, headache, or trouble sleeping. The brompheniramine part is an antihistamine and isn't really the concern here.
I want to be honest that this warning is theoretical and based mostly on animal research, not human studies. Still, since both touch the same system, please check with your pharmacist or doctor before pairing them, especially if you have any heart or blood pressure issues.
