Here's the gist for combining rauwolscine with Caplyta (lumateperone). Antipsychotics like lumateperone can lower the brain's seizure threshold a little, meaning they slightly raise the chance of a seizure in people who are prone to them. Rauwolscine, a stimulant cousin of yohimbine, may nudge that risk a bit higher. The worry is that stacking the two could make a convulsion more likely.

I want to be honest about the evidence though: this is theoretical and based only on an animal study where rauwolscine lowered the seizure threshold for a lab chemical. It's not proven in people. Even so, rauwolscine can also raise heart rate, blood pressure, and anxiety on its own. Before pairing these, please check with your pharmacist or doctor.

Brand name: Caplyta

Caplyta (lumateperone) is approved for adults with schizophrenia, depressive episodes associated with bipolar I or II disorder (bipolar depression), and as an add-on treatment for major depressive disorder (MDD).

For bipolar depression, Caplyta can be used on its own or alongside lithium or valproate. For MDD, Caplyta is used together with an antidepressant — not on its own as a standalone antidepressant.
