Tolterodine falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES — the group Rauwolscine interacts with.

Theoretically, rauwolscine might increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP2D6.
Rauwolscine is structurally related to yohimbine. In vitro research shows that yohimbine inhibits CYP2D6 enzyme activity.

Here's the gist with tolterodine (Detrol) and rauwolscine. Your body relies on a liver enzyme called CYP2D6 to help break down tolterodine. Rauwolscine is a close cousin of yohimbine, and lab studies suggest yohimbine can slow that same enzyme down. If that slowing happens in real life, tolterodine could build up a bit more than usual.

What might that look like? More of tolterodine's typical antimuscarinic effects, things like dry mouth, constipation, blurry vision, or feeling lightheaded. Keep in mind this is theoretical, based on test-tube data, not actual patient reports, so it may not amount to much. Still, since rauwolscine itself can bump up heart rate and blood pressure, it's worth running this combo by your pharmacist or doctor first.

Tolterodine — available as tablets (including Detrol and Tolterodine Tartrate tablets) and extended-release capsules (including Detrol LA and Tolterodine Tartrate extended-release capsules) — is prescribed for overactive bladder. It targets three main symptoms: a sudden, hard-to-control urge to urinate (urgency), urinating too often (frequency), and leaking urine when that urge hits (urge urinary incontinence).
