Reishi Mushroom + Clopidogrel
Clopidogrel brand name: Plavix.
Reishi Mushroom has a moderate interaction with Clopidogrel. Theoretically, high doses of reishi mushroom might increase the risk of bleeding.

ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS
Why this applies to Clopidogrel
Clopidogrel falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Reishi Mushroom interacts with.
A dose of 1.5 grams daily of reishi mushroom does not seem to decrease platelet aggregation, but a higher dose of 3 grams daily does.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist if you take Plavix (clopidogrel) and are curious about reishi. Clopidogrel already works by keeping your platelets from clumping together, which is how it lowers your risk of clots after a stroke, heart attack, or stent. Reishi, at higher doses, may have a mild blood-thinning effect of its own. Stacked together, the theoretical worry is a little extra bleeding risk, things like easier bruising, nosebleeds, bleeding gums, or cuts that take longer to stop.
I want to keep this in perspective, though. This concern comes only from lab and animal research, and lower reishi doses (around 1.5 grams daily) didn't seem to affect platelets at all. It's a maybe, not a sure thing. Still, before adding reishi, please run it by your pharmacist or doctor first.

About Reishi Mushroom
What is Reishi Mushroom?
- Immune support
- Fatigue and general well-being
- Stress and sleep
- Inflammation
- Heart and cholesterol health
Reishi is a traditional Asian mushroom widely used to support the immune system and overall wellness. Human evidence for most of its claimed benefits is limited or low-quality, so it should not replace proven treatments. It is generally well tolerated for short-term use, but check with your pharmacist or doctor before starting, especially if you are pregnant, nursing, or take other medicines.
About Clopidogrel
What Is Clopidogrel Used For?
Brand name: Plavix
Clopidogrel tablets are used to reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke in people with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) — including unstable angina and non-ST-elevation or ST-elevation heart attacks — and in people with a history of recent heart attack, recent stroke, or established peripheral arterial disease. For ACS, it is typically given alongside aspirin.
It works by preventing platelets (blood cells that trigger clotting) from clumping together, which helps keep arteries open and lowers the chance of a dangerous clot forming.
