Here's the thing to know with reishi and methazolamide. The interaction on file is really about reishi's tendency to gently lower blood pressure in some people. Methazolamide isn't a blood pressure medicine, but it is a carbonic anhydrase inhibitor that can already nudge your fluids and make some folks feel lightheaded, tired, or a little dizzy. Adding reishi's mild blood-pressure-lowering effect on top could, in theory, leave you feeling more woozy than usual, especially when you stand up quickly.

I want to be honest that this is theoretical and based mostly on animal and lab research, with mixed results in people. For most, it's not a big deal. Still, mention it to your pharmacist or doctor before starting reishi, and let them know if you feel faint or unsteady.

About Methazolamide

What Is Methazolamide Used For?

Brand name: Neptazane

Methazolamide tablets are used to treat eye conditions where lowering intraocular pressure (pressure inside the eye) is expected to help. These include chronic open-angle glaucoma and secondary glaucoma.

Methazolamide tablets are also used before surgery in acute angle-closure glaucoma, when reducing eye pressure ahead of the procedure is needed. Note that long-term use in angle-closure glaucoma is not appropriate.
