Fexofenadine falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Schizonepeta interacts with.

Animal research suggests that schizonepetin, a monoterpene constituent of schizonepeta, induces cytochrome P450 (CYP) 3A4. Theoretically, schizonepeta might decrease the effects of CYP3A4 substrates.
Some substrates of CYP3A4 include lovastatin (Mevacor), ketoconazole (Nizoral), itraconazole (Sporanox), fexofenadine (Allegra), triazolam (Halcion), and numerous others.

Here's the gist for Allegra (fexofenadine) and this herb. The concern on file is that a compound in Schizonepeta may speed up an enzyme called CYP3A4, which is one of the pathways that handles fexofenadine. If that enzyme runs faster, your body could clear the drug a bit quicker, which in theory might make your allergy relief a little weaker. So you might notice your runny nose, sneezing, itchy eyes, or hives aren't quite as well controlled.

That said, this is only based on animal and lab data, not real people, so it's very theoretical. I wouldn't lose sleep over it, but if you take both and feel your allergy symptoms creeping back, just check in with your pharmacist or doctor.

About Fexofenadine

What Is Fexofenadine Used For?

Brand name: Allegra

Fexofenadine temporarily relieves symptoms of hay fever (seasonal allergic rhinitis) and other upper respiratory allergies, including runny nose, sneezing, itchy or watery eyes, and itching of the nose or throat.

Several products — including Allegra Hives 24hr tablets — are specifically used to reduce hives (urticaria) and relieve the itching that comes with them. Keep in mind that fexofenadine will not prevent hives or stop an allergic skin reaction from happening in the first place.
