Here's the basic idea with slippery elm and your methamphetamine (Desoxyn). Slippery elm forms a slick, gel-like coating in your gut from its mucilage fiber. In theory, that gel could wrap around a swallowed tablet and slow down how much of it your body actually absorbs. If less gets in, your medication may feel weaker, so you might notice your ADHD focus slipping or, if you take it for weight management, less of the appetite-curbing effect.

I'll be honest, this concern is theoretical and comes from how the fiber behaves, not from real studies on this exact combo. A simple fix many people use is spacing them apart, often taking slippery elm a couple of hours away from your dose. Please run the timing by your pharmacist or doctor before changing anything.
