Ramelteon falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2C9 (CYP2C9) SUBSTRATES — the group Soy interacts with.

Soy might modestly induce CYP2C9 enzymes. However, this effect does not seem to be clinically significant.
In vitro research suggests that an unhydrolyzed soy extract might induce CYP2C9. However, the significance of this interaction is likely minimal. In healthy females taking a specific extract of soy (Genistein Soy Complex, Source Naturals), blood levels of losartan, a CYP2C9 substrate, were not significantly affected.

Here's the short version: this is a very minor, mostly theoretical concern. Ramelteon helps you fall asleep by acting like your body's own melatonin. Soy isoflavones may slightly speed up one liver enzyme (CYP2C9), and in lab studies that could nudge the body to clear certain drugs a bit faster. In theory, faster clearance might make Ramelteon a touch less effective, so you could notice it takes a little longer to drift off.

In real life, this effect looks tiny. When researchers tested soy with a similar enzyme-processed drug, blood levels didn't change in any meaningful way. Eating normal soy foods is very unlikely to matter. If you're using concentrated soy isoflavone supplements and feel Ramelteon isn't working, just mention it to your pharmacist or doctor before changing anything.
