Here's the thing to keep in mind with this combo. Doxidan contains phenolphthalein, which is a stimulant laxative. When laxatives get your bowels moving a lot, your body can flush out potassium along with the water. Low potassium is the real concern here, because Squill carries heart-acting compounds called cardiac glycosides that behave a lot like digoxin. When potassium drops, those compounds hit the heart harder and can throw off your heart rhythm.

So this isn't about the laxative being changed by Squill. It's that the two together could nudge you toward heart rhythm trouble through potassium loss. This is a theoretical caution based on how these things work, not proven cases, but Squill is genuinely toxic stuff. Please loop in your pharmacist or doctor before mixing them.

What is Squill?

Squill

Squill is a bulb plant that contains potent cardiac glycosides, which can affect the heart much like the drug digoxin. While it has a long history of use as a cough remedy and heart tonic, it can be dangerously toxic and there is little solid evidence for its modern use, so we do not recommend taking it without close medical supervision.
