Erythromycin Ethylsuccinate falls under MACROLIDE ANTIBIOTICS — the group Squill interacts with.

Macrolide antibiotics appear to increase the gastrointestinal absorption of oral digoxin. Theoretically, concomitant use of macrolide antibiotics might increase the absorption of the cardiac glycosides found in squill.

Here's the concern with combining squill and erythromycin (E.E.S.). Squill contains natural heart compounds called cardiac glycosides that work a lot like digoxin. Macrolide antibiotics such as erythromycin can change the bacteria in your gut and may let more of these glycosides get absorbed into your body. In theory, that could push squill's effects higher than expected.

If too much of these heart-acting compounds builds up, you could see nausea, vomiting, vision changes, or an irregular or slowed heartbeat. I want to be honest though: this is a theoretical interaction based on how the drugs behave, not on strong studies. The bigger issue is that squill itself is potent and risky. Please talk with your pharmacist or doctor before pairing these.

Squill is a bulb plant that contains potent cardiac glycosides, which can affect the heart much like the drug digoxin.
