Tazemetostat Hydrobromide falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Sulforaphane interacts with.

Theoretically, sulforaphane might increase the levels and effects of CYP3A4 substrates.
Animal and in vitro research shows that sulforaphane inhibits CYP3A4 enzyme activity and downregulates its expression. This interaction has not been reported in humans.

Your body relies on an enzyme called CYP3A4 to break down and clear tazemetostat (Tazverik). In lab dishes and animal studies, sulforaphane appears to slow that enzyme down. If that happened in people, tazemetostat could clear more slowly and build up to higher levels, which might mean stronger side effects like fatigue, nausea, low blood counts, or a higher risk of infection.

Here's the reassuring part: this interaction is only theoretical right now and has never been reported in humans. The amount you get from eating broccoli and other cruciferous veggies is very unlikely to cause a problem. A concentrated sulforaphane supplement is the bigger question mark. Since tazemetostat treats serious cancers, please run any supplement past your oncologist or pharmacist before starting it.

About Tazemetostat

What Is Tazemetostat Used For?

Brand name: Tazverik

Tazverik (tazemetostat) tablets are used to treat adults and patients aged 16 and older with metastatic or locally advanced epithelioid sarcoma (a rare soft-tissue cancer) that cannot be completely removed by surgery.

Tazverik is also used in adults with relapsed or refractory follicular lymphoma — meaning the lymphoma has come back or stopped responding to treatment — either when the tumor carries a specific EZH2 gene mutation (confirmed by an FDA-approved test) after at least two prior treatments, or when there are no other satisfactory treatment options. Both uses were approved based on response rates, and continued approval may depend on results from ongoing confirmatory studies.
