Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES
Why this applies to Hydrocodone, Pseudoephedrine
Hydrocodone, Pseudoephedrine falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Sweet Annie interacts with.
In vitro research shows that the Sweet Annie constituent artemisinin induces CYP3A4, possibly increasing CYP3A4 activity by 1.9-fold. However, Sweet Annie extract seems to inhibit the activity of CYP3A4 in vitro, suggesting that other constituents of Sweet Annie play a role in its effects on the overall activity of this enzyme. More information is needed to determine whether taking Sweet Annie extract affects the metabolism of CYP3A4 substrates.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the honest picture with Sweet Annie and your hydrocodone/pseudoephedrine combo. The hydrocodone part is partly handled by a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. Sweet Annie's effect on that enzyme is genuinely murky: lab studies show its main compound (artemisinin) can speed the enzyme up a little, while the whole-plant extract may actually slow it down. Because these tug in opposite directions, nobody can say for sure which way it lands in a real person.
If the enzyme sped up, your hydrocodone could clear faster and give you less pain relief. If it slowed down, hydrocodone could build up and add to drowsiness, slowed breathing, constipation, or dizziness. Since this is only lab data, the real-world risk is likely small, but please run it by your pharmacist or doctor first.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Hydrocodone, Pseudoephedrine page
“Rezira and P-V-Tussin pair hydrocodone, an opioid, with pseudoephedrine, a decongestant, so the 241 supplements here pull in two directions and I would handle this combination with real care. Most entries either deepen the opioid's sedation (78 ingredients are CNS depressants, alcohol included) or stack stimulant effects onto the pseud…”

About Sweet Annie
What is Sweet Annie?
- Malaria (traditional)
- Fever
- Inflammation
- Digestive complaints
- Antimicrobial support
- Insect repellent
Sweet Annie (Artemisia annua) is the source of artemisinin, a compound used in prescription antimalarial drugs. While the purified drug is well studied for malaria, the herb itself as a supplement is not proven for the wide range of conditions people use it for, and self-treating malaria with the raw herb is dangerous. Talk to a pharmacist or doctor before using it.
