Hydrocodone, Pseudoephedrine falls under STIMULANT DRUGS — the group Ephedra interacts with.

Theoretically, concomitant use might increase the risk for serious adverse effects.

Here's the key thing to notice: your medicine already contains pseudoephedrine, which is a close cousin of the stimulants in ephedra. So pairing it with ephedra basically stacks two similar stimulants on top of each other. That's why this combination is flagged as a serious concern. Together they can push your blood pressure up, make your heart race or pound, and leave you feeling jittery, anxious, or unable to sleep. In some people, that extra strain on the heart and blood vessels can be dangerous.

The hydrocodone side is mostly along for the ride here, but remember it's a narcotic cough/pain ingredient that causes drowsiness, so mixing uppers and a downer is hard on your body. Ephedra is banned in U.S. supplements for good reason. Please don't combine these, and check with your pharmacist or doctor about safer choices.
