Testolone and Belinostat

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.

Moderate

HEPATOTOXIC DRUGS

Why this applies to Belinostat

Belinostat falls under HEPATOTOXIC DRUGS — the group Testolone interacts with.

Theoretically, concomitant use might have additive hepatotoxic effects.
In a case report, a 52-year-old male was diagnosed with liver injury thought to be related to the use of products containing testolone. Also, elevated liver enzymes were commonly reported in a dose escalation study of testolone.
Severity Moderate Likelihood Possible Evidence B

Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.

Dr. Brian Staiger, PharmD, BCPS
Dr. Brian Staiger explains PharmD, Clinical Pharmacist

Here's the concern with combining these two. Belinostat (Beleodaq) can be tough on the liver, and your care team usually checks your liver enzymes during treatment. Testolone (RAD-140) has its own track record of liver trouble. A man in one case report developed liver injury tied to testolone products, and rising liver enzymes showed up regularly in early dose studies of it. So this isn't about testolone changing how belinostat is broken down. It's that both can stress the liver, and stacking them may add up.

If your liver takes a hit, you might notice yellowing skin or eyes, dark urine, belly pain, or unusual tiredness. Honestly, testolone is an unapproved, illegally sold product I'd steer clear of entirely. Please talk with your oncologist or pharmacist before mixing anything new with your chemo.

About Belinostat Injection

What Is Belinostat Injection Used For?

Brand name: Beleodaq

Beleodaq (belinostat) injection is approved to treat adult patients with relapsed or refractory peripheral T-cell lymphoma (PTCL) — a fast-growing type of lymphoma (blood cancer) that either came back after treatment or never fully responded to it.

This approval is based on how well the cancer responded to the drug, including how long those responses lasted. Whether Beleodaq extends overall survival or improves disease-related symptoms has not yet been established. Continued approval may depend on results from a confirmatory trial.
